This is your life story, but before you were born your parents, grandparents
and generations before them lived and made the earth ready for your arrival.
The following questions are to assist you with this chapter that in your
final copy will be called.
LIFE BEFORE I KNEW IT. (or what ever you may want to call it. This
will be covered more in the last section of this course.)
Please open your word or notepad program in a new window and use
the following questions to help guide you through this assignment.
1. Did any of your family members migrate from another country?
- Where did they come from?
- When did they immigrate?
- Where did they immigrate to?
2.Do you have any famous people in your family?
3. Have family members told you stories about past generations?
- What is the story you remember most?
- Who is the story about?
- Who told you the story?
- What year did this incident take place?
4. Does your family talk about family members that were not good people, or
maybe they always seemed to get the raw deal but were really good people . Tell us about the people in your family.
5. How many generations can you go back in your family?
Tell a little about great,great grandparents and great grandparents and
your Grandparents.
6. How long did your parents date before they married?
7. Do your Grandparents or Parents tell stories about their courting?
8. Do you have older brothers or sisters?
- What are their names and when were they born?
9. What kind of work did your Grandfather do in his working years?
- For instance, a farmer, shoe maker, iron worker.
- Did your dad take on the same occupation?
10. Was your mom a stay at home mom or did she work out of the house?
- What kind of work did she do?
Can you remember anyone saying I remember before you were born Milk only cost
____ or before you were born there were no tv's, before you were born we had to work to help support the family . School wasn't
an option.
If you were ever told anything like above this is where you may want to
add that information.
Remember as you are writing your answers be honest, and be yourself. If
it helps write like you are telling someone your answers.
Example:
I have heard stories about before I was born. My Uncle ___ told me that
my Great Grandpa______ was a farmer that never went to school, he didn't know how to write or read because in his childhood
it was more important to help the family with the harvests.
Note:
Assignment one will look something like this sample assignment, And as the
class moves forward and more people turn in their assignments I may add or replace some of these questions. This is just a
sample because I know as a consumer I would want to see something showing what the course is all about before I paid any money.
If for any reason you are not happy with the course in the
first week I will refund your tuition minus the transaction fees.
Special note from your teacher:
While writing your answers for these questions your thoughts will wonder. That's
ok flow with it. These questions are here to help guide you with writing your life story and allowing your mind to write and
type things as they come to mind will provide with further information that will be useful latter as the course moves on in
assignments. We will sort everything out in section two of this course.
